Likes: Adults only (not tested with children); playing tug-o-war and fetch; giving kisses and snuggling; being held and sitting in laps; going for car rides and walks; likes belly rubs and baths; likes stuffless and chew toys
Dislikes: Dogs; sharing food; vacuums; some mild reaction to thunderstorms and fireworks
Manners: Housebroken; crate and leash trained; verbal commands: stay, stay, shake, down, leave it, look at me, Lucy, come, treats
Fenced Yard: Preferred. If not, she must be on leash at all times and walked
Tidbits: Sweet Lucy. She’s got everything going for her – good looks, great manners and a real personality. But she just doesn’t want to be around other dogs. Doesn’t want one in the house. Doesn’t like laying eyes on them on a walk (though redirecting her attention is helpful. Treats and “look at me” are beneficial in those situations). It seems Lucy misinterprets the signals from other dogs. To most dogs, those signals mean “hello” or “let’s play.” To Lucy, they mean, “Get away” and “I’ll fight you.”
Lucy loves to please her humans and to be with them at all times. Her next home should be one in which she is the only dog, is walked regularly and loved for the great gal she is. If you think you can provide Lucy that type of home or have inquiries, please contact
